About cold room refrigeration unit

A cold room refrigeration unit, also called condensing unit or cold room compressor, is an important part of a whole cold room system. A refrigeration unit is typically an assembly of a compressor, condenser, fan motor, controls, and mounting plate. A refrigeration condensing unit has the function of a heat exchanger to cool down and condense the incoming refrigerant vapor into liquid and a fan for blowing outside air through the heat exchanger to cool the refrigerant inside. Cold room condensing units have various designs and come in different sizes ranging from small household appliance units to large industrial units used in food and manufacturing processes.

Three different types of cold room refrigeration units

Air-cooled condensers follow a simple design and use standard airflow in managing their cooling. The air-cooled condensing units are mainly applied in small units such as water coolers, household refrigerators, window air-conditioners, deep freezers, small packaged air-conditioners, and split air-conditioners. The second type is the water-cooled condenser, which uses water as the fluid to remove heat from the refrigerant. Water-cooled condensers are the eco-friendly variation of the standard air-cooled condensers. These cold room condensers are mainly found in central air-conditioning, big packaged air-conditioners, and large refrigerating plants. The air-water or evaporative-cooled condenser is a combination of both water and air condensers. In this type of cold room evaporator unit, both air and water work in tandem to cool and liquefy the coil's refrigerant. These cold room cooling units are eco-friendly and ideal for commercial use.

Factors to consider when choosing cold room refrigeration units

When choosing an appropriate cold room unit, refrigeration needs of a cold room, types of cold room including the modular, refrigerated cabinet, display cabinet, and building sit, as well as the type of insulation and size should be considered. In addition to the type of cold room, knowing the standard conservation parameters for all types of products allows people to find the right refrigeration unit to conserve the product optimally.
